My only rambutan tree
Ehemmm see the fruits
Remember the green rambutans in My Garden posting. Well it’s yellow now, sweet, juicy and delicious. Beside my neighbors and friends the musang, squirrels, bats and birds have been having a field day enjoying the fruits.
U Lee sorry x mail u ....it's sweet, juicy and delicious
The single 18 years old rambutan tree has never failed to given me the coziness of plucking and eating rambutans in my own garden. You need to plant, care, nourish and the tree will never failed you. Just like a friendship.
You get what you plant no!!!

ok. I found an information here that i want to look for.
Assalamualaikum Cpt DJ,
Nothing like enjoying fruits plucked and eaten just like that :)
Now I am missing home already...
Remind me to visit you for a taste of this rambutan. If only i can plant rambutans in my garden!
Salam Akmal,
You are right, petik, kopek dan makan bawah pokok. Of course it's better at your kampung because you have other fruits as well... durian, manggis, ciku etc etcc
Kak Teh,
You are welcomed to my house and rambutan anytime. Just give me a tinkle we will have more then rambutan for you.
Salam DJ,
Tentu rasanya lebih manis kerana hasil dari usaha sendiri. Rambutan diraja tu, warna kuning..
Salam Zabs,
Betul tu tak sama dengan yang beli, sebab pokok itu ada sebahagian daripada keluarga kami. Orang Johor panggil Rambutan Gading.
Salam Jaflam,
MasyAllah! May the tree give you more rambutans for many more years - they certainly do look lovely!
Hi Dato
The rambutans certainly look delicious ans sweet. Reminds me of those childhood days of climbing from one tree to another at home. Rambutan gula batu. But cannot reach. Mind you not like monkeys, but a cute little girl...heheh. (Naik lift dalam basket, tekan button sendiri)
I also wish I could grow it in my backyard, except my friend warned me it might attract termites to your home. Any truth in that? After 18 years, you should know, right.
Salam Shah,
Thank you, begitulah hasil kalau berbudi dengan tanah.
Hai Ydiana,
Its ok to naik lift tekan sendiri after all that cute little girl has transformed into a beautiful lady heheee.
You can plant the new species that does not grow that big. I don't think rambutan tree attract termite, unless it’s a dead rambutan tree. Diana pls calls me jaflam aja in future, lebih mesra. TQ
Bang DJ,
Laa masa tak mengizinkan kita bertehtarik tempohari... apa lagi nak menegena rambutan gadingan yang pasti lazat tu...
Insya'Allah next time. Hopefully next time masa Ramadhan.. or Syawal?
Salaam.
Jaflam,
Am pining for your rambutans. The fruit looks vey succulent.
Salam MS,
No problem have a good trip and I will catch you next time.
hi & amp;lo,
If you in bangi just drop over, i bet you will come again afer testing the rambutan gading.
dato,
your garden looks very cooling lah. just pull a few chairs, gather some friends, have a chat under the tree while enjoying the rambutans direct from the tree. couldnt get any fresher than that could it. makan nasi bawah pokok pon berselera anyway...hehehe...
Hi Jaflam, Holy Smoke! Love those yellow rambutans of yours. Kalu saya ada sana, I'll polish off that one bunch in pic in rapid time.
Disini pun ada rambutans, but from Thailand...
I buy those canned ones and eat with ice cream when watching late night movies on TV.
Jaf, pokok rambuta you tu ada kerangas? Someone was told me if ada semut rambutan betul manis. Ha ha. Must be an old pakcik tale, huh?
Oh ya Jaf, nak tanya you...there is that fruit, looks like rambutan, purplish colour, but not rambutan, but very succulent and manis betul...when I stayed at my Malay friend's house in a kampong in Pahang long time ago, they had a big tree with these fruits.
Apan nama buah tu?
I really like your garden, Jaflam...your rambutan tree 18 years old only that height and size? Was it a budgrafted plant when you got it?
I remember the rambutan trees I used to climb...where the present Petronas Towers is now, a friend's house...boleh patah leher if jatuh as very tall...
Had another friend, his house, huge garden, next to KL Hilton Hotel, now no more, apart from he has beautiful sisters, they had several rambutan trees....kita kerjah kan pokok tu, ha ha...
To think all those trees I climbed when young now all skyscrapers there, haha.
Okay, I make sure bila I balek kampong, I plan rambutan season, ha ha....that bunch hanging down to the ground sure looks tempting, ha ha.
Have fun and jangan lupa water your papaya trees, Lee.
Hai Kerp,
Thanks for the hint and very true as well. Planning but not happening yet, maybe after the dust have settled down in Permatang Pauh.
Hai Lee,
I bought the rambutan tree seedling from UPM and believed it s special bud grafted plant, that why it doesn't grow that big.
There is no kerenga but quite a bit of ants on the fruits due to its sweetness.
Maybe the fruits you described was`pulasan, it’s like rambutan but the hair is shortist but very sweet flesh.
I can imagine you on a rambutan tree with all the girls cheering for the rambutan to be thrown at her. Were you wearing shorts then ????? heheeeee
Hi Jaflam, ha ha...yes la, those days we wore shorts and at my Malay friends homes in Kampong Baru used to climb the tall rambutan trees, and you are right...had friends sisters with those rattan baskets waiting below for the rambutans we dropped to them, ha ha.
Holy Smoke! Itu ka dia..'buah Pulasan"!! Jaflam, you made my day. Everytime kita buka cherita here of old days, none of us can remember the name of that fruit.
Yes, yes...it is buah pulasan...love that fruit. Last time ate it when 16 years old, ha ha.
Ada lagi your succulent rambutans?
"Hello MAS, saya nak ticket kepada KL...."? Ha ha. Lee.
Jaff,
If ada gals, pasti ada Uncle Lee. He is a debonair par excellence. hehehe
By the way am in KK. Thanks for your invite.
Hai Lee,
Hope you wear the superman undies inside aswell or the girls must be screaming at the wrong rambutan heheeee. Sorry Lee joke only ma.
I believed MAS has special price for senior citizen .... you may still be able to catch the rambutan and durian within this month. Take care my friend.
hi& amp;lo
You are right he is like sugar and the girls like ants heheee.
