ELECTION RESULT - Whe the Moon and Rocket Meets

9/3 was a long night with full of surprises and changes. Despite expecting the changes the actual result made you forget about sleep and glued to the direct results and comments on the TV Awani & TV3.

The people have spoken and the political landscape changed in 4 states of Penang, Kedah, Perak and Selangor while Kelantan delivers its fatal blow to BN. The BN achieved its simple majority with 139 seats and lost 5 states to the BA. It has never happened before in the history of Malaysia but the reality was, the Rakyat has delivered its verdicts.

The new challenges now lies with the BA ( PAS, PKR and DAP ) not only to get use to be the ruling parties but most importantly how to ensure their collaborations will not be derailed in the light of the new power given to them by the Rakyat. How are they going to ensure that peace, harmony and prosperity thrive in the early transition of power and the later governance of the states. Everybody is watching closely how they work out the winning formula to rule Perak and Selangor without being suck up with the new power entrusted to them. Definitely the ultimate act of doing and delivering promises is greater then promising itself.

It is our desires to see that the BA use this opportunity given by the Rakyat to proof that they are better alternatives then the BN, otherwise they will receive the same fate as BN when the time come.

Meanwhile the BN has no choice but to reinvent themselves to be relevant for the new dawn and expectations of the Rakyat. The losers and leaders have to be honorable enough to accept responsibility and make way for others to chart the new course.

D Jaff,
It will be a most difficult balancing act to perform but nothing is impossible if you follow the rule to the letter. It is deviation from the rules that is causing havoc when you are seen to favour someone despite the flawas in the person.
There is no way you can please everybody.

Salam Zawi,
They said when you tell the truth, then you don't have to remember anything. When you are truthful to yourself and others then you have nothing to worry - our job is to performed and God delivered. Congratulations to Kelantan and the rest.

Dear DJ,
I too was awake until almost 4am. It was calm in JB where I voted in Larkin. No canvassing, no enticing, no seducing, almost no lining up. It was finished in a jiffy. Such as if there's no wind of change, just a flutter here and there except for a gust in Bakri though. But looking at numbers, the tide is rising and it may take a little 5 years on, albeit the breakwaters are strong enough, the bunds might be falling. Like tsunamis, they call without a warning. I wonder if Johoreans can change the wind.(rosn2000)

Salaam DJ.
Believe me, the students over here, mostly, reacted nonetheless. I took my sleep after Subuh in fact.
We'll see what's coming.

Nan,
I hope the Johor breakwater will stand the storms that will never stop every 5 years. Let the Tsunami be the reminder from God that nobody is invincible especially for those who betrayed the trust given to them. It looks like the worst is not over yet; look at the winning states Perlis and Terengganu are still in cross quarters situation. I believe the wind will get stronger and if the Captain is not prudent we will head straight into the storm.

Salam Akmal,
It looks like so much happening after the results. Let hope that whatever happens it will not be at the expense of our peace and harmony.

Bang DJ,

Needless to say, this of course is unprecedented and will take time for EVERYBODY to digest.

This is a whole new political reality. And as a former seamen, the good Datuk here knows what's it like to go in unchartered waters...

And we can't tell rocks from the lighthouse - yet.

Dear MS,

You are absolutely correct about EVERYBODY grasping with the new reality and kind of lost when thrown to the new Ocean.

The BA has to learn fast to be the effective and sensible ruling representatives and government. While the BN trying hard to change its colors to suit the new political environment and reality.

The change agent and political activist must keep monitoring both fronts to ensure the ship called Malaysia is on course and not heading towards the storm again. Its not going to be easy since the depressions seemed to be everywhere.
