Mission accomplished... Gerak

Gerak Panglima..... done
.
After a few make over and touch up I have decided to sign my first work. It’s done since the owner wanted it this way, without further refinement. I am very happy to sign off the first work despite wanting to make more touch up on it.

While I was finishing the piece my daughter and significant half were also having a go at the painting to keep me company and motivated. They came up with beautiful paintings on Flower Pot and Landscape. I displayed their works for your pleasures.

Well I will start on second piece soon to capture these painting moods.

Gerak Panglima my first Acrylic

I have decided to have a go at acrylic painting after getting much encouragement from Pak Zawi determination and passion towards it. It was more difficult then I thought despite having a go at abstract rather the realist style. Still finding my ways with the most suitable and perfect strokes.

Well I am not finish yet with it but I displayed it here for your view. Being my first painting I meant so much to me despite being far from perfect. It shows three pesilat getting at each other and I named it Gerak Panglima. Let hope it looks much better when I finally finish with it. Anyway the painting has been booked by someone that I could not refuse.

The Silat Kids

The best time to instill the spirit of courage, discipline and survival among the kids is when they are young. Like what the Malay proverb says " kalau hendak meletur aur biar lah dari rebung ". As they grow older the period of teaching and disciplining tend to disappear and you have to start treating them like friends ..... teach and develop them in a friendly manner.

The silat kids were thought not only the art of self defence but discipline, integrity and bravery. It was reflected in their determination during the grading test at padang UKM recently. In fact I was told by some of the fathers that their children could hardly sleep that night practicing their steps and movements for the test. Early in the morning they woke up and donned their silat uniform and excited to rush to the padang for the test and to meet their silat mates.

The pictures tell the rest of the stories ........
