Taman Tasik Cempaka @ Bangi

Taman Tasik Cempaka is one of the Jewel of Bangi that provides the community with large spacious lake garden for healthy lifestyle. Every weekend it will be crowded with joggers, brisk walkers or simply people having leisure times with their family.

The scenic Bridge, Lake & Garden View

The lake garden is complete with more the 4 kms jogging tracks, kid’s playgrounds, stretching and exercise spots, reflexology tracks, small foot ball field, picnic gazebos etc. The Bangi community that practiced healthy lifestyle will used the garden as their playground while others unwind themselves with their family and friends after hectic days at work.
Two kinds on the Cempaka Stone

Kid's Playground .... colorful

The place is a must for my weekend brisk walking and exercise routines. Used to join the Sunday aerobic session by the lake but lately it was changed to Saturday at the Bangi Walk corner, which I found not suitable at all for the program . Hope the organiser will change it back to the regular spot by the lake that provides fresher air and ample space compared to the congested Bangi Walk by the main road. While you walked around the lake enjoyed the sight of Chikong practitioners and Pocho Pocho dancers that add to the colorful life in the garden.

A recreational area is a must to propagate healthy lifestyle and Bangi is lucky to have Taman Tasik Cempaka. It must be utilized and preserved by the community as a treasure and landmarks for the Knowledge City. We have to exercise and look after our health or else others will have to look after us.
Reflexology Track ..... can cure your ills ???

Football ...... Turkey in Red

Family outing .... kid's playground

Start the healthy lifestyle early ... follow big bro

Bangi walk ..... nice but too narrow for aerobic session

Bangi Mosque .... just nearby .... Green dome like Mesjid Nabi

PKNS Shopping Mall .... near the lake too
Bangi Kopitiam ..... popular spot for kopi and roti bakar
Puncak Bangi ... Semi-D RM 800K each facing the lake

dato J,

that's what the residents in my condo are fighting for; a recreational lake park instead of more shopping malls. taman tasek cempaka is one fine example of that. but no, to them developers its all about cashing in, even at the expense of the environment. i'm no tree-hugger but the lush grenery must at all cost be preserved for its beauty.

Salam Dato',

MasyAllah! Bangi has changes so much since I was last there! Hmm...worth a drive through. Then again, oops! With the petrol prices, maybe another time; hope you don't mind.

Hello Kerp,
It’s sad, the developer just could not see any empty space or green lung.... they will wrape them for money. Worst still the authorities closed both eyes and ears.

I hope you and your community will keep fighting for your lake & garden. Make a hell of noise until they back out

Hi Jaflam, mulut saya buka whole time looking at your beautiful pics. I just cannot imagine what I am seeing, ha ha.
Really breathtaking to see the Bangi I knew in 1970's now beyond my imagination. All I can say is, Holy Smoke! Ha ha.
I guess bila saya balek kampong...there won't be any place I can recognise, ha ha.
And the last photo of the homes...really beautiful designs.
Boleh nampak your BMW parked outside tu.

Datang your Blog like seeing Lonely Planet or National Geographic, Ha ha.
Jaflam, by chance if you go to Morib..take couple of pics, send me telegram...I was last there on the beach 1965! Yes....wayyyyyy back, ha ha.
Happy jogging, my friend, Lee.

Hai Lee,
Glad that you enjoyed my shots around Bangi. I am just doing my bit in propagating beauty and healthy lifestyle.

As for Morib you will definitely jatuh from your motorsikal looking at that place now. They have turned the place into Gold Coast or working on it ??? With floating resorts and maybe theme park later on. I will definitely get some shots of Morib for you whenever I get there.

Take care and happy blogging

Salam Dato

I'd say you made a good choice in choosing Bangi as your 'kampung' within metropolitan vicinity. Looks very peaceful yet cheery.

Congrats on some of your pix being chosen for the Malay Mail. Let us know when they want to publish it. I'll certainly buy a copy!

Hai Ydiana,
Bangi is not love at first sight but love over times. The Taman Tasik Cempaka gave the knowledge city a character and harmonized living needed very much in the fast pace society.

The article will be published tomorrow, 2 June 08, Malay Mail under "Your City" section.

Thanks for dropping by and take care.

Salam Kak Teh,
Glad that you drop by and hope you and Wan are fine in London despite the heavy schedules.

I became part of the lake garden after patronizing it every weekend. In fact the regulars have fostered special bond and friendship, giving the dynamic life to the garden. Next time you are around don't forget to have a stroll along the lake.

D. Jaff,
Nice place for the kids to play around and safety is not an issue here I guess.
Any wifi at the kopitiam?

Capt DJ,
Absolutely breathtaking, that place is. I bet it has served Bangi community well as a place to release stress.
Have a nice day.

Salam Zawi,
The kids enjoyed the place very much and their presence adds to the beauty of the place. Some of them run around/play at the kid's playground while others play badminton and balls with their parents. Some of them still in pajamas and half asleep tagging their parents around the lake, simply cute.

I believed the Bangi Kpoitiam has WaFi although I never bring my laptop there.

Salam Akmal,
Thanks for dropping by and you are right, the lake garden served the community very well especially nowadays most of the houses are very small with limited space to do anything. With the public lake garden they are able the release themselves from suffocation due to lack of space at home.

Salam DJ,
Mawi pun dah menjadi ahli masyarakat di Bangi kabarnya.
Di mana lokasi rumahnya itu agaknya?

jaflam said...

Zabs,
Betul Mawi pun dah buat rumah di Bangi, tapi belum pasti di mana rumah dia. Mungkin tengah buat kot, nanti bila dah siap taulah di mana.

Jaflam,
I'm glad I found your blog here. I am from PJ, and I thought Shah Alam is a neat place. And now, Bangi too has become my favorite over the last 2 months, since i took over a restaurant business here.
By the way we may have met in one or two PIMMAG exercises with the oil companies about 10 years ago..
Thanks for sharing your pics here...
