Alahai PKR - Senjata Makan Tuan

Jangan Main Api Nanti Membakar Diri Sendiri !

Perak PKR, DAP defectors surprise appearance at Najib's office

PUTRAJAYA, Wed:
Bota Assemblyman Nasarudin Hashim, who defected from Umno to PKR last month, made a surprising appearance at the office of Datuk Seri Najib Razak here in Putrajaya. Also making a surprise appearance is the DAP Jelapang assemblyman Hee Yit Foong. The two so-called independent assemblymen who quit PKR, Behrang assemblyman Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu, have also appeared at Najib’s office.
Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin claimed to have an explanation for Nasarudin's appearance in Putrajaya: he claimed the Bota assemblyman was "taken" from his house in Ipoh by two BN assemblymen supposedly to meet Raja Muda Raja Dr Nazrin Shah in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.Nizar also claimed that Nasarudin, who defected to PKR last week, was "abducted" by these people to meet Najib.Nasarudin had announced his defection to the PKR on Jan 25 while Jamaludin and Osman claimed they have left PKR after being treated as outcasts. Prior to today's appearance in Putrajaya, the duo had deemed themselves as independent assemblymen.Najib is scheduled to give a press conference any moment now to declare that the Barisan Nasional has secured the necessary number of assemblymen to form a new Perak state government.
Witht defections Jamaludin, Osman and Hee, and the re-defection of Nasarudin, the BN now has 31 seats against PR's 28, which means the political pendulum has swung to BN's favour. This clashes with Nizar's intent to seek the dissolution of the Perak state assembly when he has an audience with the sultan of Perak at 5pm.It is now a question of who will prevail with the Sultan of Perak: the BN with the required numbers to form a new state government or the Pakatan Rakyat, which has lost the numbers but wants a snap state election.
IPOH, Feb 4 — Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin has obtained an appointment to meet Sultan Azlan Shah at 5pm today in an attempt to head off attempts by the opposition Barisan Nasional to form a new state government.
Nizar will seek the Sultan's consent to dissolve the state assembly amid swirling rumours more Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen are defecting to BN, on top of the three who have turned independent. BN is expected to make an announcement this afternoon offering to form a new state government in Perak.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has called for a press conference in Putrajaya today at 4pm, and speculation is rife that he will be making the announcement on behalf of BN.
A number of senior BN assemblymen are already making their way to Putrajaya.
It is not clear when BN officials will seek an audience with the Sultan.
Earlier, political circles were buzzing with talk that Sultan Azlan Shah had asked Nizar to form a unity government amid swirling rumours that deputy state speaker Hee Yit Foong has also turned independent. If her move is confirmed, the Jelapang assemblywoman joins two PKR state assemblymen who have declared themselves independent and makes Nizar's administration a minority government. The Pakatan Rakyat government now holds 29 seats to Barisan Nasional's 27 in the 59-seat assembly.
Nizar has also delayed a press conference scheduled at 1pm which had given rise to speculation that he would dissolve the state assembly. The menteri besar is hoping to be granted an audience with the Sultan this afternoon to seek consent for the state assembly to be dissolved and pave the way for snap polls. The PR alliance of PKR, Pas and DAP are confident of winning fresh polls with a bigger mandate.
The BN coalition is hoping, however, to be able to secure the support of the three renegade PR lawmakers who have now turned independent to form the government. With their backing, BN will hope to attract even more PR lawmakers to defect. Constitutional experts have said calling for snap polls is the only way out of the Silver State's political quagmire with the Election Commission refusing to call for by-elections in Behrang and Changkat Jering. The Pakatan Rakyat government has already given the Election Commission 48 hours from yesterday to reverse its decision.
